Site Visit Information
The Bidder, before submitting a bid for this Work, shall visit and carefully
examine the site of the Work in order to have full knowledge of, and to fully understand and
appreciate, the facilities, difficulties, and restrictions attending the performance of the
contract for which a bid is submitted. The Bidder shall take all required measurements and
carefully inspect all existing conditions, constructions, irregularities, and interferences
which may affect the Work under this contract.

Description
PAR (BLDG. # 0105): THE PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE RESIDENCE HALL (PAR)
COMMONS BUILDING HAS TWO HYDRAULIC ELEVATORS - ONE PUBLIC
PASSENGER ELEVATOR AND ONE FREIGHT ELEVATOR. THE SCOPE OF WORK
IN PAR INCLUDES COMPLETE MODERNIZATION OF THE PRIVATE FREIGHT
ELEVATOR. THE ELEVATOR HAS TWO STOPS THAT INCLUDE THE BASEMENT
AND LEVEL ONE. THE ELEVATOR MACHINE ROOM IS IN THE SUBBASEMENT
WHERE ELEVATOR MACHINERY IS OPENLY EXPOSED TO BUILDING UTILITIES.
THE ELEVATOR IS CURRENTLY OPERATIONALREFER TO DIVISION 01 OF THE
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR A COMPLETE, DETAILED BREAKDOWN OF
THE BASE BIDS AND ALTERNATES FOR THIS PROJECT.SHERMAN HALL (BLDG.
#0291): THE SHERMAN HALL HAS ONE "SIDEWALK LIFT" HYDRAULIC ELEVATOR.
THE ELEVATOR HAS TWO STOPS THAT INCLUDE THE BASEMENT AND THE
LOADING DOCK. THE ELEVATOR LIFTS THROUGH A PAIR OF BI-FOLD STEEL
DOORS FOR FULL EXTENSION TO THE LOADING DOCK LEVEL. THE MACHINE
ROOM IS IN THE BOILER ROOM, WHICH IS ACCESSED VIA STAIRS, WHERE
ELEVATOR MACHINERY IS OPENLY EXPOSED TO BUILDING UTILITIES. THERE IS
A NEARBY FREESTANDING FIRE RATED ELEVATOR MACHINE ROOM SERVING
ANOTHER ELEVATOR IN THE BOILER ROOM. THE ELEVATOR IS CURRENTLY
NON-OPERATIONAL.THIS PROJECT INCLUDES A ROJECT LABOR AGREEMENT
THAT WILL BE EXECUTED BETWEEN THE LOWEST RESPONSIBLE/RESPONSIVE
BIDDER AND THE EAST CENTRAL ILLINOIS BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION
TRADES COUNCIL. A COPY OF THE PROJECT LABOR AGREEMENT IS INCLUDED
AT THE END OF SECTION 00 99 00.
Refer to Division 01 of the technical specifications for a complete, detailed breakdown of
the base bids and alternates for this project.
This project includes a Project Labor Agreement that will be executed between the lowest
responsible/responsive bidder and the East Central Illinois Building and Construction
Trades Council. A copy of the Project Labor Agreement is included at the end of Section
00 90 00.
