Site Visit Information
The Bidder, before submitting a bid for this Work, shall visit and carefully
examine the site of the Work in order to have full knowledge of, and to fully understand and
appreciate, the facilities, difficulties, and restrictions attending the performance of the
contract for which a bid is submitted. The Bidder shall take all required measurements and
carefully inspect all existing conditions, constructions, irregularities, and interferences
which may affect the Work under this contract.
Description
The Doris Kelly Christopher Illinois Extension Center (DKC) at the University of Illinois
Urbana Champaign (UIUC) is a 32,000 square foot, single story building constructed of
solid timber structure, and clad with limestone veneer masonry, standing-seam zinc roof
and wall panels, and aluminum / glass curtainwall enclosure. It will house all programs
associated with the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences
(ACES).The building is designed to achieve LEED and WELL Platinum Certification, and
therefore is made up of many energy-efficient HVAC and lighting systems. Sitework
includes site clearing, grading, landscaping, paving, and drilling for geothermal wells.

the base bids and alternates for this project.
This project includes a Project Labor Agreement that will be executed between the lowest
responsible/responsive bidder and the East Central Illinois Building and Construction
Trades Council. A copy of the Project Labor Agreement is included at the end of Section
00 90 00.
