A virtual pre-bid conference for all parties interested in bidding the
project will be held at 10:00 AM on 7/11/2023 through Zoom 1-312-626-6799, Meeting ID
825 5435 3602, Password: 1867. Site visit will be conducted on 7/11/23 at 1:00 PM. Meet
at room 138 of Madigan Lab, 1201 W. Gregory Dr., Urbana, IL.. Representatives of the
Owner and the Professional Services Consultant will be present to answer questions
regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are urged to attend.

Contract Divisions of the Project - The Owner will receive separate sealed bids for
the following contract divisions of the project:

Delivery - Submit bids on forms furnished by the Owner as one pdf less than 200
MB at https://przm.apps.uillinois.edu/przm/ocpweb.nsf/projectsuiuc?OpenView
for this project. If multiple bids are received by the same bidder for the same
division of work, the later bid will be considered official.
Electronic Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 PM, prevailing
time, on 8/1/2023.
Electronic Bid Opening - Electronic bids will be electronically opened and publicly
read on 8/1/2023 / 2:30 PM on a call-in telephone number Zoom 1-312-626-
6799, Meeting ID 815 4977 3411, Password: 1867 and tabulated. A recording of
the bid opening is available upon request.
Site Visit Information
The Bidder, before submitting a bid for this Work, shall visit and carefully
examine the site of the Work in order to have full knowledge of, and to fully understand and
appreciate, the facilities, difficulties, and restrictions attending the performance of the
contract for which a bid is submitted. The Bidder shall take all required measurements and
carefully inspect all existing conditions, constructions, irregularities, and interferences
which may affect the Work under this contract.

Description
Project includes both the complete replacement of existing fire alarm systems at Foellinger
Auditorium and English Building, and fire alarm system upgrades at the National Soybean
Research Center and Madigan Lab (four buildings total). Work shall include demolition and
either entirely new fire alarm systems (at Foellinger and English) or new fire alarm devices
and associated programming (at NSRC and ERML), including initiation, automatic
detection, and occupant notification. New systems shall integrate or supervise the existing
building mechanical and fire protection (sprinkler) systems, as well as elevator and other
indicated systems. New systems shall be manufactured by Siemens and shall be Cerberus
Pro Modular series per campus standard.
Refer to Division 01 of the technical specifications for a complete, detailed breakdown of
the base bids and alternates for this project.
This project includes a Project Labor Agreement that will be executed between the lowest
responsible/responsive bidder and the East Central Illinois Building and Construction
Trades Council. A copy of the Project Labor Agreement is included at the end of Section
00 90 00.
